Cuban sounds like the guy who tried to tell you about his idea for a novel at a party. He thinks ChudGPT will be amanuensis to his genius, and that literary acclaim is right around the corner. Bonus: Since stolen work is already incorporated, he doesn't have to work with—or pay—a real writer!
I have grown to believe that excessive wealth does something to your brain that is analogous to a serious head injury

Hey folks, The Deadlands is not just a magazine I love reading, it's one I love working for. One of the great ways to keep it going is to join the Patreon. Join (or up your pledge!) before the end of the year to avoid the $1 price increase that starts January 1. www.patreon.com/c/the_deadla...

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

Anybody have an AI-free, free-to-use Adobe Elements rec for this feline?

I canceled my Acrobat subscription last night and left a comment saying why. Join me!
Thanks for this, I also need something to replace Element, which I uses AI, is ugly, and doesn't work unless you pay for it.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Looking for an Acrobat replacement for Windows 11. Willing to use a paid program (over time, almost everything is cheaper than an Adobe subscription), and I prefer something I can own instead of a subscription service.
In light of Adobe's plans to add ChatGPT to everything, I need to an alternative for doing the usual writer stuff with PDFs (open them, combine files, sign them, save them). What definitely meets my PDF needs without funding this specific lake-boiling, thieving, corporate monstrosity?

I want to make a list of *short stories* (any genre) published by intersex authors in 2025 & hopefully going forward. I've been meaning to do this for a while, and I think now there are plenty of stories.

If you have some stories, let me know / if not, please repost to spread the word?

Thank you!

No spoilers (or DM me if you think you know the answer and it is a spoiler), but what other films does Grace's big scene in WAKE UP DEAD MAN remind you of? I feel like it's going for a specific vibe, but aside from "maybe Italian" and "maybe 1970s,” I'm at a loss.

I saw this in the theater, but not the first theater I had tickets for. The showing was canceled because, as the manager said, their projector "couldn't ingest it." She said they tried with three different files. Imagine: This movie blew the projector's mind.

tl;dr I enjoyed it
We’re up! On NETFLIX! Please enjoy #WakeUpDeadMan at home or in theaters - we’re staying on 500 screens nationwide through next week. Theater finder link in my pinned post ☠️⏰🎄

It's a cozy fantasy full of delicious food, magic, found family, and sweet romance (with two queer middle-aged MCs!)

Oh, and tea. Lots of tea.

First in a brand new series! I can’t WAIT to share it with you #sff #booksky

Not only are @shaenon.bsky.social's WILLOWWEEP MANOR books good fun, they do smart trope dissection without feeling condescending toward either the reader or the genres. Highly recommended for ages on the cover (12, I think?) on up. Signed copies at the link below!

This is still true for your faves who write only short stories! Anthologies, collections, and even some magazines are eligible for all five of these!
5 ways to give your fave authors free-to-you gifts over the holidays! 💙📚

1. post about their book on socials
2. rec on other posts & Reddit threads
3. suggest their book to a book club!
4. order their book from a library/ask can it be ordered in!
5. add it to GoodReads lists for discoverability!
