How are those MAGA tariffs working out for farmers these days? If only we had a big foreign assistance program that could absorb some of the commodities…
I am finding it hard to feel sorry about the impacts in red states and they’ll probably get even more farm subsidies because of this. They voted for this, let them deal with it

I thought the “Big Balls” carjacking/beating might have been our Reichstag Fire moment, but now it looks more like the Charlie Kirk assassination is. Perhaps a “Little Reichstag Fire” and “Big Reichstag Fire” or something similar is a useful concept.

Today has been a milestone day in US politics, in the worst way. Awful bill passed in the Senate, end of Voice of America and USAID, opening of a concentration camp, it all sucks. No one should continue to think courts will save us. Next rung down could be an “emergency” to permit canceling midterms

I don't think we're in a democracy anymore. Unmarked secret police kidnapping people off the street? A dictator mobilizing the military against civilians? Defying court orders? Ignoring due process? Arresting political opponents? Democracy has left the building. We CAN & MUST get it back, though.
We are facing a serious threat to democracy, law, and liberty. The abuse of prosecutorial power to intimidate, investigate, and detain political opponents is upon us. It is a constitutional crisis. I will keep speaking out until public outrage overflows. I just hope it’s not too little, too late.

With the tragic assassination of a Minnesota Democratic leader, I’m going to underline this point again.
I know there's a lot going on, but the Secretary of Homeland Security declaring that federal troops are in California and Los Angeles to "liberate" the state and city from its duly-elected leaders really is a fourteen-alarm fire.

I don’t think people are paying enough attention to the fact that the North Carolina court of appeals just ruled that 65,000 votes don’t count, and that the Republican Supreme Court candidate who lost actually won.
This will be appealed, but make no mistake: they’re trying to steal this election.
