I’m doing research for a project and found out about the “don’t buy where you can’t work” movement during the depression, where Black people boycotted and picketed places that wouldn’t hire us. Shout out to everyone who’s not going back to Target!

The Faith Matters Network used to have an emotional support hotline for activists but it doesn't appear that this is running anymore. I have had a few requests for such a resource over the past two weeks. Anyone know of something similar that exists now?

Too often, tech creates logistical problems that disrupt learning.

My 6th grader's school, for ex, uses Chromebooks for everything. But the kids haven't learned typing, so work takes longer than by hand. And they often forget to charge the devices at home, so class gets wasted trying to plug in.
Say it often, say it loud:

"Overall, research has not supported the common-sense presumption that digital approaches to schooling are better than non-digital alternatives. At the broadest level, widespread computer use in education has been found to be associated with lower student achievement."

SCOTUS just legalized racial profiling, and ICE is already denying a person's right to due process — abducting, detaining and deporting whoever they want.

This is how white nationalism overthrows a country.

Other countries have safety nets. The US has women.

Their labor creates the illusion of a DIY society, making it seem like we don't need a net.
