Why I try not even to read the AI rubbish...
[Mr. Magoo voice] Oh, AI, you’ve done it again!

Greta Thunberg "is known to speak English fluently in her public speeches, which have been translated for English-speaking audiences."
October 6, 2025 at 11:24 PM
After 10.7.23 there must be *some* reprisals. I think Thunberg will be more effective, calling for compassion toward non-Hamas Palestinians, when she's integrated that thought into what she's saying. Until then she'll be seen as charismatic, brave, brilliant, but wrong.
This is what Greta Thunberg said as she arrived in Greece after being illegally detained by Israel. Fifty years ago, this speech would have been given by Sweden's Prime Minister Olof Palme.

Today, the Swedish government is effectively on the side of Israel's occupation and genocide.
October 6, 2025 at 11:14 PM
The events of 10.7.23 were crimes against humanity. Thunberg needs to acknowledge those too. Though of course it hurts.
Tons of respect for Greta Thunberg and the flotillas. I know Thunberg wants us all to focus on the genocide and ethnic cleansing, but allow us a moment to acknowledge your courage. Caring for yours is easy, and we share that with fascists. Caring for the stranger? That's the level up.
October 6, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Y'mean she's finally noticing events of 10.7.23? Now THAT would take fortitude. To heed both sides.
Greta Thunberg is truly among the bravest of us. She goes well beyond what liberals pretend to be, as well. A hero and incredible person. Free Gaza, free Palestine from the zionist occupation!! 🇵🇸
She called out world leaders for sitting by and watching a live-streamed genocide without taking action.
October 6, 2025 at 10:45 PM
Well, now Thunberg is 22...still growing, but traditionally we call 22yo women (or men).

Maybe some of the "child" stuff is bc she brings out parental-type feelings.
.
Back then, I still thought Greta Thunberg was great . . .

Eww ick, a post was just "liked" by something that, if it's run by a human, is completely irrelevant to the post & me. Does this mean what it means on X? How many people can see this post?

Needs some counter-strategy, doesn't it? How to get these rural doctors onto direct payments? What voluntary help is available to fill in gaps for poor patients? How to cut overhead, eliminate third parties, and maintain quality of care?
Sad news out of Augusta County – they’re being forced to shutter three rural doctors’ offices in direct response to Republican Medicaid cuts.

This horrible law is going to devastate rural health care.

How can anyone not know this? We'll never know how many died from COVID because hospitals were pressured to mis-ascribe all admissions & all deaths to COVID. Many died from treatments, stress, heart disease, diabetes, other conditions for which they were actually admitted--w or wo COVID!
WARNER: Do you accept the fact that 1 million Americans died from covid?

RFK Jr: I don't know how many died

W: You're the secretary of health and human services. You don't have any idea how many Americans died from covid?

RFK Jr: I don't think anybody knows that

W: How can you be that ignorant?

I like Oxford a lot. Its architecture, and bookshops, and cafes, plus its all-pervading ambience of history and learning, but I think what I most like about it is its commas.

As everyone waits with bated breath for some announcement from the White House that may or may not be very significant, I am reminded of something @sarahkendzior.bsky.social wrote in a post a few days ago: "Do not let Donald Trump be the most important person in your life."

I found the blade...just before the Tsunami of Books Written During COVID Lockdown swept over the land. Then came the Second Wave of Books Written for Marketing by Series, and now, worst of all, the Third Wave of Books Written for Marketing by Series Using Plagiarism Bots.
Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

Even in the darkness, this little moth reminds us that beauty still exists in quiet places. With wings like painted art and courage to fly through the night, it teaches us to stay gentle, stay strong, and always follow the light, no matter how small it may seem.

I know many here won't agree with this Substack on much, but EVERYBODY should know the facts discussed here: Trump's "Private" Health Tracking System? open.substack.com/pub/hammerst...
Trump's "Private" Health Tracking System?
President Trump's new private health tracking system will be a public/private partnership between the government and... you guessed it... Big Tech.

I'm looking forward to reading it!

I've been "designing" tabards lately. Easy plug-in designs but I can't do photos up to Knitty's impressive standards.
Have you ever wanted to be published in a real knitting/crochet magazine? Here is your chance! Knitty's Call for Submissions for Winter '25. The theme? Scraptastic!

All details here including how you keep your copyright and get paid for your work: knitty.com/subguide.php

Good luck! 🧶

Books are great insulation, if there are enough of them.
I know I buy too many books but I like to think that lining the walls of my house with them warns off evil in some deeply important way.
