I managed to update my About page on my website!

The chapbook webshop remains broken and therefore tells lies about product availability. If you'd like to purchase either or both of my chapbooks, please shoot me DM, and we'll make what arrangements we can.

Best moment of today: as I was working on lyrics for another(!) new(!) song, a line of pretty melody appeared and I was able to repeat it and solidify it before it floated away.

It took less time than expected! Now I'm home, fed, and about to settle into my office with a cup of coffee and a few hours to spend all cozy with my guitars.
This morning, I'm waiting to get some routine blood work done. 30 minute wait time, which isn't the worst, but I need to keep fasting, so no coffee while I wait. On the upside, they're going to text when it's my turn, so I can sit in a comfy mall chair instead of a terrible clinic chair.

Gather it. I don't care if it's spite, joy, anger, bile, defiance, loneliness, relief, sexual energy, humor, recollection, pride, confusion or infinitely reliable curiosity. Use it like a storm under your control, filled with lightning. Let bolts fly.

Behave as if writing is the official thing I do, be more intentional about my creative time, and stop treating it like a weird hobby that I need to hide or apologize for and can drop whenever someone needs me.

Oh, and write more songs. :)
My 2026 writing goal is to finally finish this novel in the first half and then write weird shit for the second half. What's your writing goal?

New song: "Edmonton Drivers Need to Chill the Fuck Out"

I haven't written it yet, but it's going to be very popular at an extremely local level.

My hair was very cute this morning and I didn't take a pic and then my hat and large puffy jacket made it weird: one woman's tragic tale of enduring winter in Alberta

The local music and poetry people I want to connect with seem to be all about Instagram and I don't want to be where the people are, but I'm probably going to end up being where the people are.

To me, Christmas isn't about perfection or consumerism. It's about family togetherness. It's about trading ghost stories with will-o'-the-wisps. It's about forming snow into giant crabs and bringing them to life. It's about running from the peppermint beasts in a torchlit cavern.

I just spent a delightful 45 minutes getting home recording tips from my beloved friend, and I am so ready to fuck around with my music now. O the digital effects—how they will be overused!

On this day in 1989, The Simpsons officially premiered as its own series so here’s a short thread of language facts relating to the show, starting with this…

In the Spanish version of The Simpsons, Bart’s “eat my shorts” catchphrase is changed to multiplícate por cero (“multiply yourself by zero”).

I brought some Christmas baking to my guitar teacher, and he let me struggle my way through blues soloing on his newly acquired vintage Epiphone Century. I didn't think I was much for gear, but I was kind of wrong about that. Old guitars and tube amps are something else.

I finished 2 new songs in 2025 after an 18-year hiatus from writing music. That's the thing I'm most proud of this year.

You need ideas because you can't come up with any? Go ask a goddamn child! They are chock full of great, and terrible, ideas until society beats it out of them. A miniature T-Rex with an insanely high IQ that also solves mysteries? Sweet run with it

This week, different people have compared my vocals to Emilíana Torrini and Thom Yorke, and while I can't quite agree, I love that people can hear their favourite artists in me.
