Really freed up a lot of my brain cycles and stress when I decided to stop giving a shit about the Democrats. I don't vote for them, I don't consider what they may or may not do, and I just don't have to work at it. My mind is clear, and the things I do instead actually make the world better.

If someone hears "this will destroy NYC" enough times on loop without intervention they will absolutely believe it to their core. That's how easy it is to brainwash a human. Our individual ability to counter balance and forage for evidence is extremely limited.
pro cuomo guy outside my polling site yesterday was yelling about mamdani "giving away free shit". someone said "did you go to public school" and he went apeshit and shouted "you think public school is free" and then started arguing with a delivery driver. Also he had his six year old son with him

"But you do understand ICE and the rest of the fed presence?"
You can arrest us or pepper spray us or whatever, but we will make you look stupid and feel silly doing it because wanting to assert control is stupid. You want to assert control? Do it to an inflatable frog!

Five years ago, @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social and I did a story about rural Oregon's fever dream that Antifa was coming to their town from Portland.

Hundreds showed up armed downtown because they heard on Facebook that "Antifa buses" were coming.

No buses came so they said Antifa "retreated."
