🧵 We got a pretty nasty load of bad news yesterday on the future of Social Security. It's not hyperbole to say we've passed the point of no return on Trump/DOGE's efforts to kill the agency...

🧵 I just want to clear up some misconceptions about what Social Security actually is and how it works.

You, as an individual, do not have an "account" with SSA where your FICA contributions have been saved for when you retire. It's not at all comparable to an investment account.

Yesterday, we sent a historically big message to Trump, Musk, and the GOP — and we also sent a signal to all those who agree with us but have spent the last few months feeling shaken, hopeless, and afraid. #handsoff

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

Some people have Cory Booker for a senator and some people have this 🤡 It's so unfair.
Sen. Jim Banks told a laid off U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) employee who approached him that they “probably deserved it” and they “seem like a clown.”

This is not normal. Thank you Sen. Cory Booker, and Sen. Andy Kim and Sen. Chris Murphy.

Just another extremely important thing to be aware of.

“I genuinely believe that the Trump administration wants to cancel the 2026 elections so that he and his party can stay in power, and we have to fight like hell against that by every means available.”
BREAKING: Trump signs an executive order attempting to make changes to U.S. election procedures and threatens funding cuts to states that do not comply. The order is likely to be swiftly challenged in court by voting rights groups.

If you do an online search for “Republican Lawmaker” or “Evangelical Christian pastor” and “sexual assault,” you’ll need a few hours to really scratch the surface.

The virtual and paper trail of these MAGA perverts and abusers is endless.
