Woke in Stoke. Port Vale / Civil Society stuff / Russian history, Tsars to Tsoi. Personal account, opinions my own.
There's at least four people on this train listening to Darren Moore's post match interview. A weird cacophony of erms ringing out like Christmas bells #pvfc

AI-Generated “Workslop” Is Destroying Productivity
Despite a surge in generative AI use across workplaces, most companies are seeing little measurable ROI. One possible reason is because AI tools are being used to produce “workslop”—content that appea...

The Sun in 2014 calling Farage what he is. In some ways a saner time

This May 2014 editorial in The Sun about Nigel Farage said is not racist" to worry about the scale of immigration but it is "racist" to smear Romanians to say you wouldn't want to live next door to a Romanian & "you know the difference" [between a German and a Romanian neigbour]

The right makes it easy…

They hand people a scapegoat (migrants) and promise to make them disappear

Our govt could do the same

They could name the real culprits behind stagnant wages, unaffordable housing, and soaring bills

But they won’t

Because they haven’t got the balls.

Der militarisch-industrielle Komplex vergangener Jahrzehnte war ein Witz gegen das, was gerade in den USA entsteht: die allumfassende Herrschaft eines oligarchischen politisch-techindustriellen Bündnisses.

you can condemn political violence without asking me to believe that charlie kirk was just an ordinary decent pundit who believed in the liberal project--believed in pluralism, freedom, and equality. he didn't. his whole thing was that he hated those ideas and wanted to destroy them

I find it absolutely ridiculous that the GOP is screaming bloody murder about the senseless death of Irina Zarutska, while simultaneously plotting to ship over 120K refugees back to Ukraine, to face the risk of being bombed and murdered by Putin.

All sounds very “I’ll end the Ukraine war in 24 hours”
Farage promise to "stop the boats within two weeks of winning gov't" unravelling.

Apparently, it means "after passing laws", "as quickly as possible", he "believes", the boats will still cross, but all will be deported "if necessary" and "sensible", "unless we have a duty of care".

Bravo, Beth! 👏🏽

Good on the Mirror for having the bravery to strike out against this bullshit
🚨An important reminder of the trauma faced by asylum seekers.

Not just in fleeing persecution abroad.

Not just in the perilous and desperate journey to these shores.

But by the hatred and vitriol put on them by the right wing in this country for callous political gain.

The in yer face abject hypocrisy of Reform
Lately, Reform UK have claimed that their hostility to migrants stems from an overwhelming desire to keep women safe.

But have they been equally concerned when the threat to women comes from someone they see as on "their side"?

I took a quick peek at their recent record. ~AA

Popped down to the #sot100 People's Parade. The axolotl breaking out of the Sideway Incinerator - which I loved - was apparently the brainchild of some Haywood High School students 👌
