Would you like to come on our podcast and talk about what you love about Philip Larkin's work? It could be a favourite poem, novel, letter, review or article. Or one of his contemporaries - Amis, Pym, Lawrence, Jennings, Frost for example? We're looking for new guests, so do get in touch.

Meeting the amazing @kidcongopowers.bsky.social in Manchester on Friday. Such happy memories of listening to the Cramps and the Bad Seeds in the 80s and here we are years later. Thank you to @wholehogg.bsky.social

Yes all this, and paintings of Highland cattle on the walls.
What would this pub be like?

Jazz & a huge fire?

Menu something like:

Breadfruit
*
Awful pie
*
Hedgehog (jammed)

No children, students or other undesirables allowed presumably.

The Philip Larkin Society journal has dropped through my door this week. It features a whole range of Larkinesque delights, including an article by the great David Quantick.

Great view from our hotel in Kings Cross. All the clouds are funneling down into the British Library, as they should.

We took the dog for a walk in the cemetery this morning a bit earlier than usual so it was dark and silent. She refused to leave our side. Is now sleeping it off.

That famous Boxing Day curry flavour (and why put capital letters on Potato Crisps but not on Boxing Day?). Seen in Home Bargains. Not purchased.

Note to commuters traveling in the living room area outside the kitchen: delays may occur due to a… spill. Teams have been dispatched but the exact nature of the fluffy white substance is unknown so we cannot give a time estimate for cleanup.
