1. There's no Christian genocide, and certainly not on the part of the govt.

2. There has been a decade-long Islamist insurgency, mainly in the north but spreading in recent years, that has targeted many, including Christians.

Even if this is SCMP, the point stands.

US disengaging with UN processes has both unblocked + weakened various negotiations (vs where it undermines long-run efforts).

EU (recent EL veto as example) already failed COP29, no sign it learned its lessons / could overcome internal blocks.
