Albertan, but not one of THOSE ones, ready to fight the UCP and their ilk for all that is good here still. Hopefully before they destroy it beyond repair.
I like other things, too 😉

We’re watching the agonized death throes of our public healthcare system while the UCP stand back and watch it all unfold, having starved the system of proportional investment in infrastructure and staffing. And so many Albertans are just standing by watching it happen.

Somewhere down some road…yeah, I’ll believe when I see it. 🫤
I think they’re hoping all the seniors needing ALC didn’t get their flu/covid shots because they couldn’t figure out how to book it online a year in advance and that they just die and stop being such a problem. Or die in over-burdened ERs😑

Lethal.

😶
Take a read👇
After three years of UCP govt meddling the HC system is more:
- chaotic
- fragmented
- dysfunctional
- lethal

Thread.
Alberta - your universal healthcare is being destroyed by the UCP.
These are the consequences.
Give healthcare the resources it needs to meet the demands.
Might have helped to have a fall Covid/Flu campaign and not charge ppl for it. 😒
Seeing more and more weighing in about how the GNH Triage nurse/ED team should be held to personal account makes me realize that the avg AB just doesn’t understand what an utter dumpster fire our major EDs have been for months/yrs.

Nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and those at the top are most responsible for these bad outcomes. Insufficient healthcare spaces and professional front line workers to meet the demand of a growing population. That is a provincial leadership FAIL.

Who knows how much govt has stolen from frontline hospital operations to run their new organizational bloat.

As for control of the system, the AG said it best in his report this week: “AHS does not function as an arms-length agency.”

Govt controls and OWNS it ALL.

Not even hiding the blatant entitlement anymore.

The Premier's Office continues to remove all checks and balances on its power.

The courts, the legislature, the Auditor General, independent agencies, the federal government, voters and candidates they don't like...

This is getting ridiculous.

Reporters should be asking Dr. Diamond (ACA CEO) and Minister Jones to answer for these increasing cases of worsening access to care...

They'll both try to defer back to "AHS"... but the solutions are in workforce/capacity/and integrated load levelling... which AHS can't do

There is an actual life-changing conflict between WFH being cheaper and more efficient, an entire layer of middle managers who need to have meetings to feel alive, and the commercial real estate cabal that runs all cities. It’s going to get so fucking weird.
remote work is like birth control or UBI atp where there’s overwhelming research consensus they improve quality of life for people they apply to, yet access is impeded or blocked by the ruling class because the thought of marginalized ppl having rich full lives makes steam come out their ears
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.

Hey AB... hallway medical care like this example is absoltuely the norm in our hospitals and EDs...

We need more pts and their families to tell their stories! The press doesn't jump on the issue until they have concrete stories they can tell.
