Steve is refusing to talk to me unless I address him as Uri the unicorn. I'm too tired to fight him on this one. I'm sure he has his reasons..

Excellent news gathering from Ireland. The whole thing really does need to be read
Absolute scenes in Tipperary. You HAVE to click through to read the entire story (shouldn’t take long, it’s fifteen words)

Those of us that read SF/F as teens read the Gor books at the wrong age (that's somewhere between 0 - 110 really). This it ... perfect? Some word anyway, it's definitely something.
Surely I can't be the only one here who has read and enjoyed the "Houseplants of Gor."

A year or so ago I was averaging about 5 miles a day walking, then I just ... wasn't any more. I've no idea where my enthuse went, but it definitely went.

I am trying to reverse the trend. Starting with a modest aim of about 2 miles per day for now. I do like cool/grey/damp weather for walking in.

Over breakfast we tend to watch an episode of a TV show - a Star Trek or Babylon 5. The current watch is Stargate SG1 that we've managed to never see before. But today we are doing Proper Culture (tm) and watching Carmen. We have eclectic tastes but it works for us "Torreadore ..."

Routine check up at the opticians just now. For the second time in the 50 or so years I've been wearing glasses I've not needed a new prescription. The change in my eyes in the last 2 years is so slight it's not worth bothering with. I'll take that!

It's just like being a teenager again - I've just finished my homework before my lesson later this morning.

I'm learning Italian and I asked teacher for some prep work before lessons. It's my own fault really.

I think I've done it all OK

There was a decided chip shop queue of people still waiting when I left, I am pleased to see that people are still eager to take up the jabs even if the group being offered them is much less than previously.

I did feel rather sorry for the pharmacist - he has a lot of arms to stab today.

I booked a Covid booster yesterday, I went down to the pharmacy about an hour ago to get it - long queue but moved at a nice pace - when I got in with the pharmacist I was planning to ask when 'flu vaccines would be available, but I didn't have time before he offered me one.

A fun way to start my Tuesday morning - online Mandarin lesson. It was possibly a mad impulse to start the lessons, but now I'm a few months in I am really enjoying them.
