It's really a shame, with the amount I struggle with insomnia, that I can't seem to write poems at night. So much wasted time. Sigh.

just read the most fascinating flash piece from @gwen.kirby over at X-ray. It's making me think of exploring prose again!

Please see the updates on this. We've only made 1/5 of what we need to seek justice. My heart truly cannot rest until I see them reunited...

We can cure Sickle Cell Anemia, which is a miracle. Truly, a miracle dragged out of the darkness by cutting edge medical science.

But now the fucking ghouls gotta sell it, so only the richest of the rich can afford it.

My library had to fire several staffers right before the holidays because of the budget cuts voters approved in 2022.

Consider planning a trip to your local library, renewing your library card, checking out physical material regularly, downloading Libby, and joining your Friends of the Library.

I just blocked three mansplainers

Please, don’t tell people how to use language... Or keep going at it when someone asks you to stop. Especially this week – holidays are an edgy time for many people. Thanks and peace

Buy books from small indie presses. Why? They can barely afford to publish the books, have little chance of getting readers’ attention as they can’t afford advertising campaigns & paid for promo partnerships, sales will probably be low & yet they believe in their books so much they do it anyway

And it's annoying when people say "What do *you* think Israel should do?"

The Israeli state made choices in the past that foreseeably leave it with no good options. That does not entitle it to commit crimes against humanity. We can tell it to stop without suggesting alternatives.
The "People who are calling for a ceasefire don't have an answer for how to deal with Hamas" line annoys me because people calling for indiscriminate bombing certainly don't either -- they are just pretending to, even though their solution is counterproductive.

Know your neurodivergent vocabulary - a #glimmer is like a small special interest, a wee little euphoria

Glimmers are vital to our wellbeing! Think of them as spoon-makers. We need them to help self-soothe, cope with stress. They can be anything, but there are many shared commonly in the community

“Human rights should, can, and do apply to all humans” is not and should not be a radical statement.

The amount of effort that some people go to try to obscure this basic concept is truly wild.
