the president has destroyed the east wing of the white house without so much as a word of input from anyone else to build a royal ballroom paid for with bribes
NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.

Guy in Nazi institution has Nazi tattoo is obvious, but the Jewish Insider is a Zionist rag so their own position on genocide is similarly Nazi-influenced.
Jewish Insider just sent out an email with an article with more Platner info. And yeah, this guy is DONE done.

Stop looking at politicians like they are Messiahs and you won't have to flail at every moment of "ex-military politician has Nazi tattoos" (because of course he does, he was a white guy in the US Military the Nazis of the post-1945 world).

California is getting safer.
Homicides down 20%
Robberies down 19%
All within this year.
And we're deploying CHP officers to more regions across the state to keep this momentum going.

These are not mental health issues. They are political and social issues and this kind of thinking is the opposite side of the bad apple theory of police violence or the bone theory of racism.
This argument already bugs me. Racism, misogyny, homophobia, hate - which are behind a lot of mass shootings - are not recognized as mental illnesses. Maybe, maybe, a willing person, with a great therapist, can grow from those issues in therapy, but these shooters are not going to do that.

American liberals don't understand fascism because they can't imagine anything worse than communism. So they acede to every part of fascism except the corporatism.

This about face in the aftermath of November 2024 is one of the least expected I've ever seen. (His politics are still terrible, but at least he's thinking for himself now.)
If you’re mad about Dems avoiding talking about DC, you can blame the Democratic quants, as demonstrated in this memo from David Shor’s Blue Rose Research

Read a history book!!!! For fuck's sake! Learn what communism is/was! Shut the duck up about Putin and the USSR!
I’m sure Trump doesn’t want to be called Comrade Trump, even though he’s assisting Putin’s desire to rebuild the USSR and he’s demanding governing ownership of the means of production. Is Comrade Trump now one of the communist lunatics he decries?

Jeffries on Trump planning a military crackdown in Chicago: "We should continue to support local law enforcement and not simply allow Donald Trump to play games with the lives of the American people as part of his effort to manufacture a crisis and create a distraction because he's deeply unpopular"

What, pray tell, is an "academic hothouse"? And how do I get a job there?
It would be a huge step forward for Democrats and for general clarity in political writing if these terms went away. These came mostly from academic hothouses.

The irony is that many people think academic writing is too "obscure." The reality is that journal norms have instead made the writing too formulaic and so the age of the long-form essay that explores an idea is long over and we just have boring formulaic writing without narrative.
Maybe academic writing shouldn't be villainized or feared. Maybe education should be supported and promoted. Maybe- just maybe- people should be supported and helped to understand why certain language is more appropriate to be used and that it's okay to be learning and open to new ideas. Ffs.
