I teach my high school students that any argument that can have the nouns replaced and still sound the same is a bad argument.
I could take anything this guy doesn’t like and make the argument that he doesn’t understand it well enough.

There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI.
1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.
Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

I am a good teacher. I have awards and evaluations to prove it. My students love my class.
Banning all electronics and getting supported in that by my admin easily added an entire letter grade to my average score. Kids are talking, engaging, thinking.
Anyone against phone bans is just wrong.

I think people need to understand that without universal phone bans, as per a meta study done, about half of teachers grade 6 and up can't actually get kids to put their phones away during class and they end up having to decide whether it's worth engaging disciplinary action or to continue teaching.

Wild to me that when people who have historically been allied with bad things start to realize their mistake that the reaction is “took you long enough to notice, dummy, you stupid idiot” instead of “I will welcome you and show you more things that are bad for us to fight together.”
