I think this is a brilliant framing of this issue. If the government can send people to a third world country to a lifetime of involuntary servitude, that is slavery. Query whether this meets the “jurisdiction” requirement of the 13th Amendment (the officials sending them are!)
Trump told America he had a deal with far-right El Salvadoran dictator Nayib Bukele to temporary hold U.S. deportees for a fee.

Now we know that was a lie.

Trump told Bukele he'd _sell_ him bodies to _own_—to be housed in his massive prison (CECOT) until death.

America is back in the slave trade.

Recently took a cross country train trip and it was so much better than flying or driving cross country, it immediately made me believe that the death of commuter rail is some sort of auto-industry plot.

More train stops. More trains. Faster trains, and less roads for commuter vehicles please.

"Despite its size, the project, because it’s privately funded, has not gone through the vetting typical of public transit systems, including lengthy governmental studies...Musk says regulation often stymies innovation."

Safety last.
#ICYMI: In building a 68-mile tunnel under Las Vegas, Elon Musk’s Boring Company has skirted building, environmental and labor regulations, according to records obtained by ProPublica and City Cast Las Vegas.
Elon Musk’s Boring Company Is Tunneling Beneath Las Vegas With Little Oversight
Given Musk’s role advising President-elect Donald Trump on ways to slash regulations and government oversight, Boring and the Vegas Loop project might be a harbinger for the country.

Homan sounds like every marble-mouthed, incompetent cop on YouTube, threatening arrest for not getting an ID with no reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime.

Sadly the only supervisor you can call is even dumber.
Presented with evidence that innocent people who are not members of any gang were wrongly deported to a slave prison in El Salvador, Homan flatly insists that all of them were in fact gang members (but he's unwilling to detail any evidence showing it)
