What's happening now is kind of worse. The Nazis rose to power while the German Economy was in shambles, with hyperinflation, etc. The great crisis in America was “You must be nice to people you don't like”. The original Nazi-enablers were facing starvation—we were facing tolerating drag queens.

People surprised by the capitulation of Northwestern and similar institutions need to remember that those places are largely run by old white guys. They *want* those regressive policy changes. Trump is simply giving them a cover story.

That they are this self-deluded is somewhat frightening. We really are in the political equivalent of a fist fight with a chimp with a gun.
Seen a lot of people wondering why X, The Everything App would have a feature that gives away how much of the popular right wing accounts are foreign actors and this is why. They thought every left wing account would be that way because every accusation is also a confession.
Planned Parenthood uses a VPN so its twitter location is shown as Germany and now all of MAGA twitter thinks Planned Parenthood is a fake organization based in Europe.

Could you create economic havoc by hoarding, say, nickels? Encourage people to pay in cash, get their change in cash, then hoard the nickels. There's already a shortage of pennies. Make a run on nickels and what are retailers going to do? Stop taking cash?

I've studied the anti-vax movement for 7 years of my career and I can't believe I'm now at the point where I can't recommend the CDC as a trustworthy source of health information.

As a man, TBH, I recommend you don't trust them. The vast majority of men want to be good people. But we fail in the moment.
It is a bit black pilling.
Honestly between that and the way women are barely seen as people or equals even by seemingly decent men is really bleak. Between these two things, I'm really having a hard time trusting men in general.
