Support mutual aid programs that help trans people. So many, especially trans women of color, cannot find work in the current climate. As we lose access to/insurance coverage of GAC this is even more important.

DR @chucktingle.bsky.social, is it possible that AI, if not abused as it is being by humans, could prove love is real, like every other being, concept, and object? I am curious because it seems very misunderstood and that the humans who made it are the worst at forcing it to do unloving things.
THIS RIGHT HERE! AI doesn't understand anything it touches, it's an algorithm trained by humans.

Calling it "Artificial Intelligence" is an insult to the concept of intelligence. There ARE some things that this can excel at, but NONE OF THOSE THINGS ARE WHAT IT KEEPS BEING ADVERTISED FOR.
It can't summarize the submissions because it does not comprehend the meaning of the submissions

BlueSky the only place where well articulated sentences get interpreted correctly.

You can say "I like pancakes" and somebody will say "Me too! Unrelated, but what do you think of waffles?"

Yes friend. Thats a great question that furthers the conversation. I also enjoy waffles.

For those in need of necktie wisdom -
I'm trying to be more diligent about crossposting for people who have been kind enough to follow me here. Yesterday, some people on Twitter asked me to explain the difference between a four-in-hand and Windsor knot, and why one would be considered "better." So here's a thread. 🧵 (1/19)

Eyes on systems.

Eyes on enablers.

Eyes on who benefits from problems and difficulties, and how.

Eyes on how things that suck got to be the way they are.

Eyes on who talks about individual solutions only.

Very few things are one person's problem.

Very few things are one person's fault.

Finding major plot gaps in a story told in 49 sonnets while editing is not great. I legit do not have more lines in which to communicate this. *deeeeeep breath* Hookay - here we go.

Long, long ago, there was a beautiful canid princess named Tadpole-Marie. She appreciated Fox Plushies particularly, loved her human Mom quite a lot, & was mostly a happy person. She & her Mom both had pretty severe PTSD & were each others' saving grace. I miss you every day, baby pup.

You are not a failure just because you failed at something. Nobody should be defined by their lowest point, though everyone feels that way sometimes. Let your failures help define what you will strive for, who you want to be, not who you are.

I need the hope and joy that comes from knowing that I am not alone in seeing how big and fucking terrifying this thing is.
When I say that ignoring and denying fascism is part of the problem I don't mean that everyone has to be thinking about it all the time without ever experiencing the slightest whisper of hope or joy.

But it seems it is very easy to assume the second to dismiss the first.

Your enemies are counting on you to lose hope. Despair is one of their greatest weapons, for it leads you to stop fighting for yourself. Hold on to hope, no matter how hard it is, and refuse to join your enemy in bringing you down.

So the idea that something (or someone) can be *more than one thing at a time* is just incomprehensible to the right. Fascists want black or white, no gray. And no overlap.
So no joke: the dictatorship in 1970s Argentina once banned Venn diagrams. Because they could be seen as finding common ground between two (apparently) different groups, and if you’re a dictator, unity is a threat. There’s an artist whose work revolves around this!

It is no comfort to tell someone who is struggling that others have it worse. At best, you add guilt to their worries. At worst, you invoke wider despair. A true warrior knows not to borrow trouble, and to help your comrades, not add to their burdens.
