What a cruel Govt this is!

The parental income test limit will be $65,529, so parents earning more than $65K will now have to support their 18- and 19-year-old children while they look for work.

The ave. household income at the end of June 2024 was $134,599, so let's bash the poor again. #nzpol

Did you see this floating around the interwebs today? Gave me a much needed laugh, especially the facials they chose

There was a fucking NOOSE outside Parliament where Seymour wandered about & 'engaged' with folk.

His inability to understand the difference between a noose as a historical reference & a threat to parliamentarians is embarrassing.

If it wasn't for hypocrisy he'd have nothing to speak about, ever.

So, the Spinoff published a column today running cover for Bishop’s racist remarks, by trying to pretend his utterances were anything but, yet Bishop’s fellow govt MPs have just shown how much they are steeped in anti-Māori, colonial racism.

The most upsetting thing in today’s debate, for both Mr and me, was the oft espoused idea that if TPM had apologised and shown contrition the penalty would not have been so high.

To which we both say
Fuck that shit! They have nothing to apologise for.

Great thread. The centralised too-big-to-fail corporate contract Seymour chose for school lunches is *everything* these fools always say about the public sector. It's beyond irony.
The school lunches thing is bad on its own, obviously, but it also says so much about this government's foundational belief that govt become more efficient and do more with less by leveraging private sector Betterness.

Luxon, the most unaware, not briefed and in general useless PM we had all of a sudden knows exactly how much a nurse earns. When asked how much he spends on weekly food he didn't know he should include earing out.
Where did this number come from?
