This pretty much sums up the current "Liberal" government and our Prime Minister. More conservative than the Progressive Conservatives of yore (still to the left of the rabid monster loony current Conservative party though, but so was Mussolini). Satire has a hard time one-upping reality.

I am so profoundly overwhelmed, burned out, and swamped with tasks that have non-negotiable deadlines. I need to rest, I need to do fun things, but every milligram of my existence is swallowed by processing world events in real time and trying to motivate myself to do meaningful work day to day.

Done teaching four post-secondary classes this semester — ranging from introductory computer skills at a college to a fourth year university course teaching VHDL and FPGA SERDES development. I need to finish marking this weekend, but I am so utterly burned out from everything life has thrown at me.

I was too exhausted to video my making it, but I did take a photo of my submission to the November Kitchen Gladiators challenge: maple syrup. I made poutine with double fried russet potatoes, fresh cheese curds, and a maple syrup (1/2 cup) and seasoned roast lamb gravy (1 cup).

36 years ago today, 14 women, most of whom were studying engineering, were killed by an anti-feminist gun man at École Polytechnique in Montreal. I was a young graduate student studying physics at the time and I will never forget. #MontrealMassacre #NeverForget 🧪 👩‍🔬 ⚛️ 🎢 #AcademicSky 🇨🇦

There is nothing better in this world than drinking a glass of warm apple juice after brushing your teeth. Oh wait, I meant to say anything in this world is better than drinking a glass of warm apple juice after brushing your teeth... 😬

My rescue cat, Honey, aka Honey Dumpling, and often just Honey Dumps continues to become more comfortable here over time. She hardly went downstairs, and skittishly at that, but I bought her a heating pad and set it up and over time she has "warmed up" to the living room and is overall more relaxed.

my algorithm keeps serving me ads for wire-free “comfort bras” and I cannot overstate how much I want wires in there. I want the structural support beams they use in bridge construction. I want to see my tits at the bottom of my vision like I have them equipped in Skyrim.

I only have to survive for two more weeks of academic hell and I can sleep again. On the plus side, going to see a concert this coming Wednesday (Alanna Sterling aka MermaidUnicorn, and Princess Unlucky). Do I have time to? No. Will I anyway? Hell yeah.

Made a big pot of pea soup with ham this evening. Celery, carrots, onions, homemade stock, split yellow peas, fresh thyme, leftover ham (that I had stored in freezer). Had a bowl for a late dinner with some bread and a glass of red wine. Super tasty and nutritious! My body was like: heck, yeah!

Funny enough, I did donate to Wikipedia for the first time a month or so ago ($25 CAD to make up for some of the years I didn't). I am anxiously awaiting my call from Sweden and the Vatican pope (I have many friends that are POPEs elsewhere, fnord!). 🤣

I finished and made my presentation in class last Wednesday, it sucked farts. The basic idea was good, but there were no details to back up its feasibility. The prof had given everyone until Friday to incorporate feedback, and I managed to get it into passable shape yesterday to submit (on time).

I finished my homework (Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems, MEMS, basically microscopic machines built on silicon chips) yesterday around noon. My next assignment is a presentation on a full MEMS display system I need to design from scratch. It is due tomorrow at 11:30AM. I have not started.
