Marie's husband was Edouard Surcouf. A sub & 4 other ships en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_... were named after Robert Surcouf (1773–1827) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_... French privateer, slave trader shipowner. He had 5 kids & came from large family so may be a family link. Something to look into!
