Don't want to keep banging on, but In the UK it's EDI.

If you call it DEI you are just being a big fat copy cat and don't merit being taken seriously. Thank you.
🔴Nigel Farage’s ‘£7 Billion DEI Savings’ Don’t Actually Exist

The media is widely reporting Reform UK’s claims they could save billions by cutting equality schemes. The real figure appears to be around 250 times smaller, reports Josiah Mortimer

🚨 A statement:

Over the past year James O’Brien & others have made claims about my departure from LBC. I’m restricted in what I can share with you but hope the statement below will draw a line under the matter. My focus is on moving forward. I am grateful for your continued support, Sangita

Some years ago I bought a few shares in a community wind turbine in the back room of the Victoria pub, Leeds. A few cynics said you'll never see your money again. 10 % interest over the last year. I guess it was windier than usual.

But it would be nicer if M&S's apology for losing our personal data didn't recommend its website for tips on staying safe online.

Great thread, very interesting.
Here's Gary Stevenson calling for a return to the 1970s, when the top rate of tax was 98%. But did the rich ever pay it?

We spoke to 1970s tax dodgers and ex-HMRC staff & and crunched the data.

A 🧵, but here's a spoiler: the rich pay more tax *now*.

Brilliant thread. Wise & informed, with perspective.
Lots of people dunking on Pritchard for this, & for sure I don’t like seeing “public health” trotted out to excuse senior managers either - but there are some big (& flawed) assumptions being made in the dunkings… 🧵
Sarah Neville in the FT on lunch with Amanda Pritchard: "The NHS contributes between 10 and 20 per cent to people’s health, she says — a figure I find startlingly low"
This widely quoted figure is startlingly low because it's probably wrong.🧵

So important to think of this. Not going to get better till it's fixed.

No pause for penguins. Can't see the bond markets liking that.
US administration has announced 90 days of a +10% tariff - not 90 days pausing the tariff announcements. So there is no gain today to countries - like UK (US has trade surplus) or penguins - on that lowest rate, but a smaller hit than was threatened on eg EU, India everyone except China
