That’s a list of four foolish goals, none of which are productive solutions to the climate catastrophe.
Quick thought experiment:
You have aligned superintelligent AI and can deploy ONE breakthrough technology instantly:
1. Fusion energy (unlimited clean power)
2. Carbon capture (reverse climate change)
3. Synthetic biology (end hunger)
4. Anti-aging (double human lifespan)
Which and why? 🧵

Based on what I’ve seen over and over again for the past 50 years, it might take the Dem leadership a long time to figure out what they stand for — if anything.
Fighting against Trump isn’t enough. It's time for Democrats to show America what they're fighting FOR — and embrace the fresh, new voices leading the way. This week was a good start. Here's what else they need to do. https://youtu.be/Uzc57eD3cWI?si=fLGGWBf468q4aacc

I just finished rereading Susan Abulhawa’s brilliant novel Mornings In Jenin, which I hadn’t read since it was first published. In addition to being a great story, it’s a great way to learn more about the Nakba and the continuing deranged violence of the Israelis.

building (and selling) massive amounts of clean energy isn’t a climate solution unless you also phase out fossil fuels
China's formal submission of its new climate targets leaves out the commitment made in 2021 to gradually reduce coal consumption in 2026-30. It does reiterate the commitment to reduce carbon intensity, which is currently badly off track, but doesn't provide any progress update.
