If you’ve wanted to go to #ffconf but couldn’t afford it, I have a ticket spare going.

Much rather it got used. ( my week’s focus got changed. 😞)

Ping me.

Tr*mp reckons that Mamdami is a “communist”. Superficial online research says, “rule by communist parties has often led to totalitarianism, political repression, restrictions of human rights, poor economic performance, and cultural and artistic censorship.” How is that different to Tr*mp's goals?

Zohran’s win may have surprised The Times, but it was no surprise to New Yorkers, or the magazine that bears our name. Well done to artist Edel Rodriguez.

“Writing things down isn't just for remembering things. It's for forgetting them”. A lesson that I learned later in my career, that would've been useful much earlier. One of Ross' great 25 lessons, about which he presented @loopconf.com.
Oh, yay! I didn’t think my LoopConf talk recording was going to be free to watch. But it’s out on YouTube.

This was an epic labour of love. I’m so glad I can share it with you.

My 25 Lessons from 25 years of software development in (a little over) 25 minutes.

New gallery added to my website, which is appropriate for this time of year: the wonderful experience of being above the clouds when there is a cloud inversion filling the valley. permanenttourist.ch/photography/...
Cloud inversions
The right weather conditions lead to a cloud inversion, where moist air fills valleys and leaves higher ground above the cloud.

I'm sorry but making content images semi-transparent / reducing their opacity in dark mode is not an inclusive design strategy. It makes the images less accessible—which is more problematic when the images contain text. & the fact that they need to be hovered to become fully visible makes it worse.
