How a Judge Tells a President to F**k Off
I read a lot of court documents, and I like to highlight some from time to time that really encapsulate the moment we find ourselves in. The latest from the 4th Circuit does it perfectly.

Supreme Court blocks Alien Enemies Act deportation of Venezuelan men
The Trump administration was planning to deport at least 30 Venezuelan men under a rarely invoked wartime statute before the court ruled to temporarily halt it.

I got to check out this Church on the last day of my Summer Boston trip. It was great! It’s even more significant to me now in these times.
I forgot how much I love this place.

I won't speak for others but I want candidates who won't just win the next election but aggressively, unapologetically destroy trumpism and rebuild everything he's broken. If you're too afraid of a 51-49 poll to even talk about an issue I have no faith that will be you
NEW: A deportation case exposes a rift among Democrats over how to take on Trump

One camp sees a pivotal moment to lean in and fight a lawless move.

Another camp sees a trap and wants to pivot to hitting Trump on his growing economic vulnerability.

Abrego Garcia's deportation case exposes a rift among Democrats over how to take on Trump
As some Democrats vocally push for the release of the man the administration says was mistakenly deported, others have sought to steer clear and focus on high prices and economic issues.

In the next few days, I guess…
I think we are well past that point already. But as I started saying two and a half months ago, the administration will at some juncture openly state that it is defying court orders. And that will happen very soon.
At what point does defying court orders signal to the populace, the government, and the remaining institutions that this needs to be stopped now?

From left to right are Shannon W. Lucid, Margaret Rhea Seddon, Kathryn D. Sullivan, Judith A. Resnik, Anna L. Fisher, and Sally K. Ride. NASA selected all six women as their first female astronaut candidates in January 1978.

On Sunday, a report is due that could include a recommendation to invoke the Insurrection Act as part of Trump’s effort to "secure" the southern border.

Let’s be clear: This might not happen. But we’d be foolish not to take the possibility seriously. This isn’t about fear, it’s about preparation.

Trump’s attack on the American mind — on education, science, libraries, and museums — is an attack on the capacity of Americans for self-government.

Democracy depends on people knowing what’s occurring around them and having the capacity to deliberate critically about it.
