Nah, for like 99% of recipes you really can just eyeball it. Baking involves science (as does all cooking), but like any skill, what you really need to do is develop experience, which means trying things and failing sometimes. Posts like this make people scared to even try.
Baking is basic chemistry. So you need to be very precise.
If they say 1/8th a cup, that doesn’t mean get the 1/4 cup scoop and just eyeball the equivalent.

Fucked around and made Dolly Parton’s cranberry mold - not for Thanksgiving, just to try it. It tastes more raspberry than cranberry, but it’s good, even with the celery. 🍽️🍜

Pottery finish! Two small cocottes/crocks/tapas serving dishes (oven-safe terracotta pots with lids)! I made the taller, narrower one, and @jeremiahgenest.bsky.social made the wider, shallower one.

Ugh! Thanksgiving recipe developers need to understand that most people do not have two ovens! There’s no way I can bake something at 400F for an hour and a half day of, you are fucking delusional. I’m sure it’s a great dish, but it is not a Thanksgiving side!
