No, say it louder. It's absolute bullshit how Across the Spider-Verse made over $300 million in profit, yet neither Marvel nor Sony could be bothered to defray the hospital bills of the man who co-created Miguel O'Hara. Instead they left his wife and family scrambling to afford to live.
feels kind of obscene to say this now, but Peter David probably could've spent a few more years with his loved ones had he received just a little help from an industry he earned millions of dollars for

a terrible thing about the last ten or twenty years of comics is seeing how many massive talents are still with us and in poor health, dying young, forever freelancers that gave their physical health to make things that now fuel the biggest blockbusters ever. It’s not right.

Official confirmation from his family that Peter David has passed away after a long illness. Tremendous writer, incredible talent. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

It's true that bluesky isn't great for news and commentary about Palestine. Maybe it will get better, maybe it won't. But we have to keep trying because it's crucial to talk about Palestine precisely where it feels unwelcome.

Soulless liberal hack preoccupied with gotchas against people protesting genocide in whatever form they can instead of saying anything about the government currently carrying it out. Hint: it's still the Democrats.

There is an endless example of these guys on bluesky.

Actual moron in the wild, tons of examples here with not much pushback unlike the artist formerly known as Twitter.
Well maybe the uncommitted should have listen to the people of Gaza who were saying vote for Harris

Comics is a world where C.B Cebulski can pretend to be a Japanese man named Akira Yoshida and hire himself and face no consequences and hold one of the most important jobs period, despite tons of public heat.

And yet white dudes insist they're the ones suffering big time for being shitheads.

Mark Waid wants you to know he's an ALLY by completely ignoring the point. Peak white liberal moment.
There is. There's just no place for people of color or women amongst the small but loud subcategory of Comicsgate creators.

I've been asked by folks to share my list of comics I loved in 2023, and so I wrote about just that.

It's fun to just blog like this without any pressure.

Comics were pretty good the past year.

the genocide we talked about is happening right now in front of the entire world and later on people are going to look back and be like wow someone really should have stopped that from happening!

It's genocide. What Israel is telling the world it is planning to do is genocide. Nothing less. No violence perpetrated against you is justification for genocide. The moral stain will forever mark those who abode this inhumanity.
