I know it feels like a fast way into despair and doomerism, but to a certain extent try not to avoid feeling bad about what you see, hard as it can be. It's good that you feel sadness, it's good that you feel anger. Do not let yourself be desensitized, ever. Your soul needs it

It is impossible to respond to these terrorizing acts by a deranged despot in a way that suits our habits. We shouldn't. Be revolted and appalled by it. Do not be desensitized by their actions, since that is how they enforce these crimes into normalcy. The hyperbole is necessary to remain human.

It’s crazy how little impact The Watchman show made. Audaciously bad show with like a few good ideas that nobody remembers.

If Byrne fans wanted the story of a big lovable insanely strong American associated with the color red that rejects his evil heritage in favor of humanity they could just read Hellboy, which is better than anything Byrne ever did (and he worked on Hellboy!)

Ridley Scott's Robin Hood is such a weird movie. It starts with some interesting ideas and looks like it's gonna be fun. Then it pivots and turns out the nobility are actually good and the real threat are the invading French whose arrival is shot like they're the Allies at D-Day

"Tolerating and excusing atrocities because I just NEED to have my slop"
At what point is this kind of stuff just performative? It has gone from "Tom King worked in the CIA" to "Tom King actually caused and was the direct force behind the invasion of Iraq."

I don't think he's above criticism, but people are just making shit up now because they already hate him.

If Tom King (involved with both the Supergirl movie coming and the Mister Miracle tv show) feels so bad about his time "planning" the Iraq War and resultant murder, torture, and assaults, he should probably stop having giggle fits when talking about it or turning it into obvious jokes.

haven't really thought about the movie all that much sice watching it cause I found it the uninteresting kind of bad most of the time, but "the kryptonians are imperialist colonizers" is such an astoundingly bad twist even inside the story
