One of my biggest regrets in life is inviting a well-respected children's book author who turned to be a staunch DDS. I'm the only one who regrets, though, because so many around me are DDSs.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: if I don’t speak up about every single topic and bad news event, it doesn’t mean I don’t care. I care deeply and it’s just overwhelming with so much happening. I’m quietly helping others however I can. Many people are too, so give folks a break.

My first superintendent, a woman, didn't want us to do overtime. Part of it might be economic - she was very prudent when it came to the use of government funds. But I will always remember her for saying we're not in this job for the good of the country, but for the sake of our family. I miss her.
