Cold climates are no obstacle for battery storage
China-based battery storage specialist Poweroad is rapidly expanding its global footprint, deploying advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) even in some of the world’s most extreme climates, where temperatures can plunge to -40°C.

This seems better than bulldozing thousands of acres of desert tortoise habitat for solar.

Put them over canals, put them on the dried lakebed of Lake Powell, put them on cables over open pit mines, put them over parking lots.

But not on wildlife habitat.

NEW | Solar is now California’s #1 electricity source ☀️

Over the past 12 months (to April), solar generated more electricity than any other source in California — surpassing gas for the first time in history.

Rapid solar + battery deployment will keep this trend going 🔋⚡️

Improving battery safety is not just about improving the chemistry. PV Magazine reports on various thermal management methods including Viridi’s "battery container made from quarter-inch, grade 50 steel as the first line of defense against thermal events." 🔌💡🔋

They say it can’t be done, but here we are, California is generated 106% of California’s entire state electricity demand from renewables.

California has a population bigger that 154 other countries around the world. It’s the 4th largest economy, in the world.

Let that sink in.
