Patent prosecution burnout. When you can’t think of the word “symmetrical” so you have to Google “mirror image shape” for help 🤦‍♂️

Interesting new pilot program introduced by the USPTO. I see limited benefit, especially with no reduction in filing fees, and seems yet another way to move closer to EPO style prosecution.

Real question: why do people refer to elected politicians as “leaders”? They are representatives, correct? We need to stop calling them bs names that bloat egos and start demanding they listen to constituents.

How can you not love design patent drawings?
Today in design patents:

D1094919 issued for combination suspenders and boots for an animal.

I'm here for any patents with an animal in clothing.

A humbling experience: I just had to look up the plural form of "axis".

BTW, it is "axes".

This is the issue. How will anything be valued? Absent an ongoing licensing arrangement (which no one will want published anyway), there would be major differences in patent "values".
Details will matter, and I'm paywalled so maybe this is in there, but among other things it's extremely difficult to accurately value patents at the application stage
I...really don't hate this idea.

"Commerce Department officials are discussing charging patent holders 1% to 5% of their overall patent value, a shift that could dramatically increase fees, according to people familiar with the matter"
