Plus! Throwing immigrant/Gazan/trans ppl or any one marginalized group under the bus signals to all other marginalized groups that their rights, too, might be discarded for a couple of imaginary centrist votes. And then you lose support from _all_ of those marginalized groups and their allies 🤷♂️
Even if Trans Rights was a "Losing Issue" (it's not), I think Human Rights are actually something worth standing up for and if you start deciding whose dignity isn't popular enough to defend, you're playing the Fascist Game and are a piece of shit.

Without LGBT New Yorkers, Cuomo might’ve won. Mamdani’s genuine and relentless support of trans rights was not only morally correct, but an electoral necessity.
