Excitedly cracked open the new 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide... and wow the 'Creating a Creature' section is incredibly lacklustre. It just says 'take an existing monster and tweak these superficial things, but don't tough STR/DEX/CON cuz that'll break the CR we gave it'.
