Every once in a long while I’ll post a dumb joke. Like a corpse flower but for bits.

people nationwide need to study what's happening in Montana to protect trans kids and their families
And it happens again!

SEVERAL Republicans cross the aisle, vote against a bill that would remove trans kids from their parents.

They do so even after another Republican threatens them with primaries.

29 Republicans flip this time!

you just can't get performances like Robert Shaw as Quint in Jaws these days. we have lost the technology to create alcoholics of that caliber.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

*grinding my molars until they are dust* Infinite Jest perfectly captures our contemporary politics
The theory that Americans just want leaders who will make politics titillating and stimulating - people who will help them deal with the crushing boredom of modern life - is sounding more and more correct to me.

I buy fruit in the classical fashion, by which I mean they get put in a bowl as status decoration and then stay there for a few months because I forgot to eat them.

I think this is honestly a large part for why our culture feels so empty right now.

Ads are the most common form of art we engage with daily. What happens when that gets squeezed down to ai video and SEO jargon.

It’s alienating, and the everyday person feels it even if they don’t notice.
Coca-Cola’s newest Christmas commercial was made using AI.

As you can see, one of the main anti-trans activists confirms what I was saying about sports.

It was never about sports, or kids, or any of that, and always about eradication.

I know I’m getting older because I’m starting to get into 70’s era Bob Dylan. Those post-divorce Christian country jam sessions just really speak to me now.

I don't know if there's a name for the permutation of fascism that turns an entire country into a meaningless joke where taking things seriously is considered weak and the ultimate untouchable strength is cynical detachment from reality
