Here's the problem for Ds: there aren't that many university-educated voters out there to court. Those with a university degree are unsurprisingly a smaller share than those without it.

Men and white people vote differently based on education
Over all, college graduates voted for Harris by 13 points more than they did Trump. But that gap was even starker for certain demographics.

Have any of you read Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People? It seems like Ds and even most sane people here at Blue Sky feel like Dr Stockmann. Thoughts?

This is the SEMINAL POLITICAL PODCAST of 2025. Podcasts like this are EXACTLY how young men will consume and understand politics.

Dem strategists should study every single second of it and recognize this is their new reality for reaching young men. Guaranteed.

No. The only chance to correct anyone and present facts is right in front of them. Having a discussion with them. Listen to the show I did with them.
It seems like your conclusion is that we live a post-truth world and facts don’t matter. Now what? Do we just have to accept such shittiness? And if so, how can we possibly do good in the world?

Ds will probably let Rubio slide and be SoS. It opens a long-shot opportunity for them. I think it’s harder to win than AL-Sen was in 2017 but if they get their act together, the chances of a pickup are non-zero.

The problem with liberals is that they refuse to fight as if they have to wage a war. *Everyone* is waging a war against them from the far-right to Islamic extremists to young students... and their response: humans are good, benevolent, etc.

Had the COVID 19 pandemic not happened, perhaps the rise of far-right politics 2.0 would have at least slowed down if not fail to materialise.

My former colleague has this piece on how "momfluencers" who do apparently "innocent" content contribute to radicalisation. This take doesn't seem surprising or deviant from critical minds would imagine.

they did this to themselves
For years, Trump and his allies have attacked democratic norms and institutions. The legacy media watched and did not take a side.

Now, Trump is threatening to attack the legacy media and they are wondering why so few are rushing to take a side.

Just a thought experiment: one notable thing about this iteration of far-right victories less featured in previous iterations is the support it gets amongst young voters. What else happened? COVID and vaccine mandates. /

I think more than being correct this is almost the entire explanation for politics in 2024. The ease of digital publishing and ludicrous increase in screen time means that people are, more than ever, living in a world shaped to activate them emotionally - in practice, by inducing rage and despair.

With the SK president’s apology, you’ve got to give the entire SK system props. Really, a ”normal” America - to the extent that it could still exist - would be proud of what its former Democracy 101 mentee has achieved.
