As weather improves we will see more crossings, for the very simple and unavoidable reason that there are no alternative, safer, routes for many of those seeking asylum in the UK. While the government postures with "tougher border policies" more people will die.

Has just earned one month working in the crappest, hardest, below minimum wage job.

Because they are always the laziest and most useless people.

There's absolutely no evidence to support Starmer's claim. Overall immigration increases wages. Where there are negative impacts it tends to be on lowest paid 5%, overwhelmingly existing migrants. In terms of undocumented migrants there is no evidence of impact wages due to nature of employment. 1/
I have not seen such a blatant anti-immigrant statement based on falsehoods, pitting people against people, in some time. Statement made by Keir Starmer at today’s immigration summit.

Under-22s with long-term illnesses or disabilities will no longer be able to claim health top-up on universal credit under UK govt plans.

66,000 18 to 21-year-olds will lose it.

People can't easily see GP, dentist, get access to hospital but will lose benefit.

This is reckless and brutal.
Under-22s will not get incapacity benefits under welfare shake-up
The move comes as part of an overhaul of the welfare system as the UK's benefits bill rises.

War on the poor and disabled

Around a million Britons will lose their entire £70 a week or £3,500 a year benefit.

Bureaucracy with a cliff-edge. Many will just miss out.

To enable the govt to meet arbitrary fiscal rules, avoid redistribution of income and wealth.

What are the victims to do?
Hundreds of thousands will be affected by benefits changes
These plans are more geared towards making budgetary numbers add up than fundamental welfare reform.
