When #editing #archaeology I usually suggest using 'hearths' instead of 'fireplaces' because hearth seems a more general term, while fireplace seems more specific (implying structure). Do people agree?

Editors, how much of our role is it when editing non-first language users' work to be like OH NO, CAREFUL NOW, ACTUALLY THAT MEANS SOMETHING REALLY SEXUAL so they avoid potential embarrassment in future, or do we just quietly change it and move on?
