If you've ever been to a campfire program, read this thread.

If you've ever earned a junior ranger badge, or taken a pic of your kid getting one... read this thread.

If you've ever smiled at a National Park social post, seen Smokey in a parade, or watched wildland fire fighters on the news...

Watched Six Triple Eight last night on Netflix. I encourage everyone to watch especially during #blackhistorymonth. I’m sure liberties were taken with the sequence of events, but from my reading it seems like it stayed pretty true to the story. Very powerful film and timely with our current climate

Finding it ironic that I am taking my annual work courses right now and one of them is titled Foundations of Disability Rights.
Going to curl up under my desk and cry for a while.

My head hurts for all my seasonal NPS friends. My brain hurts for all my permanent NPS friends. The ones who just took a promotion, moved to their dream park. The ones who had their summer season all lined up and eagerly looking forward to this summers adventures.

Kitty is back home after 2 weeks in quarantine. It’s 49 degrees in the Florida keys so we are snuggling today.

Today marks 30 years since the return of the gray wolf. From watching them during a hunt, gorging their bellies on a fresh elk kill, howling under the snowy skies and puppies playing with sticks, I feel incredibly fortunate to have witnessed these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.

5 1/2 months was the longest I’ve gone without a cat in the house since 2005. Happy to have fixed this! Also as I type I am realizing it was on Jan 2, 2005 that I brought home my very first cat, Bella.
