Wolf lover, Grand Canyon obsessed, nature advocate living life in the Beautiful Florida Keys
My husband and I got engaged in one of those very cabins that sit on the rim. I don’t cry over structures often, but many tears today.

Brilliant move on their part, hanging this right next to the falls.
I’m ridiculously proud and inspired by everyone at Yosemite right now. They are making their voices heard all without damaging resources.

Kitty is back home after 2 weeks in quarantine. It’s 49 degrees in the Florida keys so we are snuggling today.

Fucking disgusting. Less than 24 hours in and IG is suggesting I follow these accounts along with the White House.
Sure maybe I would if I wanted to vomit on a daily basis.

Today marks 30 years since the return of the gray wolf. From watching them during a hunt, gorging their bellies on a fresh elk kill, howling under the snowy skies and puppies playing with sticks, I feel incredibly fortunate to have witnessed these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.

A11: this is such a hard one for me. I can never decide between Yellowstone and Grand Canyon. Both hold such a special place in my heart. I think in my heart of hearts Grand Canyon will always be the place I long to return to. #parkchat

A4: Lassen Volcanic National Park. There is a trail for everyone there. Peaks to summit, hydrothermals to explore, lakes to stroll around and plenty of quick and long backpacking trips. #parkchat

A3: the Belgian waffle at El Tovar! I dream about the next time I get to eat one.
Next up might be any meal enjoyed on the North Rim lodge. That view is spectacular. #parkchat

A1: late to the party, but my vote would be for Everglades. If you go during the summer and are there just before dusk or dawn you’ll likely hear the nighthawks. #parkchat

5 1/2 months was the longest I’ve gone without a cat in the house since 2005. Happy to have fixed this! Also as I type I am realizing it was on Jan 2, 2005 that I brought home my very first cat, Bella.

So disappointed. I wanted to read this after hearing him on a podcast. By page 42 I had counted 3 typos, and 1 factual error. I tried to keep reading but my brain wouldn’t turn off the spelling scanner. I know my grammar isn’t perfect, however isn’t that what an editor is for?

Went to the local shelter today to meet some kitties and make sure we hadn’t developed an allergy in the past 4 months. This happened…

A bit windy and chilly down in the keys- but finally got ourselves back out on the water. This is my favorite place to paddle. #LongKeyStatePark

Winter walks in lower Bidwell Park are always a favorite when I’m visiting family. I had the best time introducing my daughter to all the places I grew up exploring.

Absolutely devestating loss Chico, CA this morning. Not only is this a symbol of Chico, it holds our towns history. I feel so lucky to have called this place my office for years. #CAStateParks #BidwellMansion

Oh and also let’s give a shout out to the pies at Capitol Reef! Can’t go wrong with one of those.

A5: #parkchat thankful to live just down the road from Everglades. It’s difficult to share only one memory from the park. It’s where my husband and I met and would share our first home as a married couple. Many boat camping trips as well. Took our daughter there
2 weeks ago for her first visit.

My two favorite parks in UT are Bryce and Capitol Reef. The drive from Bryce to CR was also pretty scenic if you have the time. I like how at each park you are getting to see another step in the staircase. Geology nerd here. We went mid June & it got warm quickly, but cool nights.

Day dreaming about my favorite place. Already looking forward to creating new memories with my family there. Hikes will look different & much shorter (not carrying my child out of that), but that’s okay. I’m so excited for my husband & I to share our love of parks with small one.

“Taught” 7th grade today to the 10% of students who didn’t get to go on the field trip. No lesson plan, & the remaining students behaved exactly how you would imagine. Came home to a happy baby, windows still open and my ideal weather.
Cheers to Friday

I can’t be certain, but I think the 7th grade social studies teacher I’m subbing for is a Taylor Swift fan.
