The entire length of the eastern sierras are consumed by wildfire smoke. Don’t plan any camping/fishing trips. The air is very unhealthy. It seems to be the new norm.

The forecast was totally off and we waited for a few hours for any signs that the blanket of cloud may relent. Nope, pack up and head back up the fell... Only to turn tail 15 minutes later when the odd hint of light started to break through. Back to the original spot and light appeared, but in the end I preferred this earlier version as a shower swept through the valley. A wall winds its way down a heather-clad hillside, whilst rain approaches in the distance. Lumpy mountains are seen in the distance.
