Remember that some people have a lot to gain by making trans people and their allies panic about today’s judgement. Remaining calm and avoiding reactionary statements is something YOU can do to make today easier.

But it's also—weirdly—the most optimistic interpretation of events, because the alternative is so much scarier. That Trump isn't acting in response to blackmail, or out of fear.
That he is doing this because he wants to.
