And that almost certainly includes me. I only knew the Dark Knight claim was false because I'm an enormous nerd who watches too much Batman, but it's entirely possible that I would be similarly credulous in a case which didn't fall within my sphere of knowledge.

Maybe it's wrong to be concerned about a harmless error when compared with the damage being done by misinformation from the far right. But it hinted that even those who consider themselves alert to misinformation are still all too willing to parrot a line without taking a moment to fact check it.
