It's BIRD COMBAT SEASON! Today after shooting 4 seconds of in flight belted kingfisher bliss I made my way over to where great horned owls had nested this time last year.
not there.
So I went to where vermillion flycatchers have for 2 years. SCORE.
2 males.
Singing.
AND THEN THEY FOUGHT! 🪶

So happy for this guy. Wildlife photography can be pretty demoralizing.
HUGE IN FLIGHT BIRD FOOTAGE VICTORY: Belted kingfisher in close proximity(under 50 feet!), in flight, AND video of it sticking the landing.
