"Overall, fossil fuel producers own only 1.42 percent of global renewable energy projects, and those projects are responsible for a measly 0.1 percent of their total energy production."

Oil, gas and coal companies aren't interested in renewable energy – except as a smokescreen to continue polluting
Fossil fuel companies say they support the energy transition. New numbers suggest otherwise.
A new study shows that fossil fuel companies own less than 2 percent of renewable energy projects worldwide.

NPR had a quick, upbeat mention about how farmwork could function as healthcare with people "prescribed" to do it and it feels maddening that a significant swath of elite opinion seems to be trying to soft relaunch serfdom.

The concern here extends beyond the ruling itself. SCOTUS picks the cases it wants to hear. It's had numerous opportunities to address the constitutionality of nationwide injunctions. So why this case? What does it foreshadow? open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...

Really sharp thread. The fact is, liberals / progressives / leftists are going to have to aggressively join in the propaganda war - in ways that feel gross sometimes - or perish.
The political theory behind IRA was roughly as follows: We have lost control of the information landscape and can no longer win rhetorical or purely political battles; however, if we make substantive policy progress that directly touches voters' lives, they will notice and reward us.

Some still see climate change as a distant threat

But the latest EU data from 2024 says otherwise:

🔥 Europe is the fastest-warming continent
🌊 Floods killed 335 people
💸 €18.2 billion in climate-related losses

If this isn’t our top priority, what is?
No time for pauses. No room for distractions

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired.

It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. 🧵
