I genuinely think the news has some kind of editorial rule about feigning ignorance of video games because at this point you have to be basically retirement age to not have at least a rudimentary knowledge of them through cultural osmosis and yet this keeps happening.

How to ppl feel about Chuck Pahlaniuk's advice about avoiding the use of 'thought verbs' in fiction? Ie, never using 'she thought, felt, imagined, remembered' etc, and instead 'unpacking' the sentence to show evidence that the thinking/feeling/imagining is taking place.
