We should all be furious that GenAI has taken from us the simple joy of looking at and appreciating art without suspicion that it was churned out by a slop machine. Even if it falls out of fashion, that human connection we have is forever changed. We should be livid.

I can go get a MTO cold hoagie from Wawa and pay for it with SNAP, due to some interesting loopholes, but as soon as you put bacon (which is objectively cold at that point, albeit precooked) on it, it nullifies the whole sandwich (not just the buck extra).

Most people don’t know that with SNAP you are banned from buying “foods that are hot at the point of sale”. So even if you have SNAP (which people don’t now) you can’t get cooked food. Which means you need to also actually have the resources to PREPARE a “healthy” meal.
Thinking about the social stigma against eating fast food in a country where poor people are being starved by the govt, the cost of groceries and fresh vegetables are astronomical, and a cheeseburger at McDonald’s costs $3.50.

Since i've had a few people ask if i'm alright with the snap shutdown (and one even prematurely send me some money): Yes, we'll be fine. My solo benefits used to pay like 2/3 the months groceries in exchange for mom paying my other bills. She'll be alright paying the whole month, just feels bad.
