Slipknot’s original is obviously the better version but I never got why La Roux changed the title from Duality.
I hated La Roux's Bulletproof the moment I heard it for the first time in 2009 and again every single time I heard it in the first few years after that and it still horrifies me when people play it as a fun nostalgia track, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard, awful awful song
Fuck your favourite song. Tell me your least favourite song. The one that makes you die inside the moment you hear the first 3 seconds.

Wait what’s the deal with this “WWII veteran turns 100” story. The second-biggest news story of the year?

The Atlantic story detailing how Trump aides inadvertently invited the magazine's editor to a Signal chat where highly sensitive information about a military strike was shared has easily become the top news story of the year globally, according to new data.
Top Trump officials' Signal blunder becomes top news story of 2025
A spokesperson for The Atlantic said it was "one of the top subscription driving stories" for the magazine of all time.

I like the abundance stuff from an “it’s good policy and doing good policy is good” perspective, but politically I do think a lot of people need to consider the fact that the USA has unusually abundant housing among Anglosphere countries, and also has an unusually strong far-right movement.
What is the actual evidence that housing is driving political shifts other than “it would be highly convenient for us blue-state YIMBYs if our pet issue was the skeleton key for Democrats”
I'm extremely down on the materialist understanding of politics but the *one* material condition I'm willing to concede might actually be largely responsible for our political dysfunction is housing.

Never really got this thing where we act like all Catholicism is good and all Protestantism is bad.

Quoting Some Guy as if it’s actual scripture is uh pretty Catholic to me
blown away by the protestantism of this tweet... did you just use "basic common sense" to interpret scripture?? thats the priests job brother, you keep those faculties of reason to yourself

It’s insane to me how the consensus among wonkish neoliberal types seems to be so against regulated sports betting, but then perfectly happy to promote the “gamble on people’s actual lives” website
this is some dark shit
