I cannot imagine higher praise than this from the creator of Triple Town. There is so much that can be done with merge games beyond their current free-to-play incarnation and I've had so much fun exploring those possibilities with Mythmatch.

One of the more interesting merge games I've come across. Adds in a strong narrative layer. And has merging mechanic as part of more open RPG-like levels.

Also there's an interesting real-time aspect to the merging that I hadn't seen before.

Merge is often relegated to a separate mode or screen area. This keeps it out in the open.

As a metaphor: JRPGs tended to put combat in a separate screen. Zelda and action RPGs asked "What if you could engage in combat in the main map?"

This design asks that same question about merge mechanics.

I made a little Ink validation tool for Mythmatch and it has been a godsend.

At first, it just checked if any game data referenced knots that didn't exist. But then I added checking speaker names for typos. Then sentence formatting.

So many errors caught and fixed!
