I've been seeing this more and I'm wondering if this is because of the increased prevalence of custom non-follow-graph-based feeds?

Bluesky turned form one of my most communicative sites to one of the less.
And not sure if I did something wrong, if people are just tired, if I don’t interact enough.
But it’s a lot of posting into the void now

What do you do when you’re a gun-loving leftist who doesn’t fit into mainstream American gun culture?

That's a question @manishakrishnan.bsky.social set out to answer this summer when she attended a Brutality match, an inclusive firearms competition in Idaho.
The Hard-Left Shooters Leading a Gun Culture Revolution
Earlier this year, I attended a shooting competition for queer, often trans, very online misfits. Then Charlie Kirk was killed.

Is there a definitive way to convert an atproto blob reference into an IPFS reference? They both use v1 CIDs so I figure its possible?

There are two labels !hide and !warn that a moderator can use to hide or warn for serious bad content. The warming levels are fixed in the client (if implemented, Skywalker does).
It turns out any labeler can apply these labels!
In the next release you can change the levels for these labels

@bnewbold.net @aaron.bsky.team @pfrazee.com I am pleading once again for moderation history to be prioritised, and for it to be viewable by an account owner in the takendown state (like the appeal form is)

this would help prevent so many moderation issues turning into PR clusterfucks

@dame.is is there a way to use anisota without an account? like to look at a particular feed or whatever?

I would love to use anisota as a showcase of atproto/bsky but it's really hard to point people to it when you have to sign in/register to even really look at it.

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

ACA was the compromise. If Republicans want to flip the table and start over, we cannot negotiate from the compromise. Single payer is the demand. They can negotiate us back to the ACA again if they want.

Interesting question. I’m guessing there are reasons for no since we pay per assessments but it might be possible. My guess is that it would take a decent amount of architectural work and hard to prioritize with everything else we need to deliver. Now that we have devex folks though!

In Canada, the CBC might be the kind of entity to help run / coordinate “public service social media”.

With interoperable standards and options for hosting, this could be a mix of shared infrastructure (& moderation) as well as individual orgs like @gandersocial.bsky.social and #CoSocialCa
“Given the severity of the threats social media companies pose to democracy and fundamental rights, policy responses cannot merely tinker around the edges,” writes Christine Galvagna. The EU must act now—fund decentralized, public service social media to protect democracy and digital rights.

It's a bit bare bones while it's in alpha but there are tons of opportunities with this.
Semble alpha is now open! ✨
