I am frequently reminded, with some smugness, that Corbyn got more votes than Starmer. I am always unsure at the point being made.

To me, this makes Corbyn's failure to be elected, not less, but more annoying. Because it means that resources were poorly allocated and there was little strategy.

Reading posts today one has to wonder if people read the Labour manifesto before voting which clearly stated they would take action to stop the boats. The reforms briefed so far are great, have shown to be effective and 100% compatible with ECHR and Refugee convention.

Why apologise for a Reform councillor calling children in care "evil" when I can just bang on about asylum seeker hotels instead?

Mhari Aurora asks a pretty fair question, is booed by the crowd and told off by Dear Leader. Then Noa Hoffman, lobs a dogwhistle soft ball about making "our high streets beautiful again", not "covered in illegal migrant vape shops," to great applause.

Genuinely ugly moment. ~AA

Really moving speech tonight from Keir Starmer at the despatch box as he opens the debate to move the Hillsborough bill. With the campaigners and their families in the gallery too.

One of the worst things the Tories scrapped. The grown ups are back in charge, this is fantastic news. Life will get much easier for a lot of people.

It seems that many people haven't realised the truth about Palestine Action.

And some seem happy to both mislead others to think it's all about some paint on a plane, while purposefully conflating the proscribing with a ban on legitimate protest about Gaza.

But that is not the truth...

It says a lot about where we're going that the BBC is now running stories in which they ask lifeboat crews whether they will apologise for using their boats to save lives

The TikTok ban was a stunt to suck up to Trump. Meta is giving him what he wants. X is owned by the administration. Companies that haven’t donated to an inaugural fund in 20 years are shoveling money.

I’m scared man. As a 22 year old, the authoritarian is winning. I don’t want to lose America.
